We have decided to start writing a blog here at Squirrel Lodge. We will be sharing what we get up to, recipe ideas, parenting hacks and any information we feel as though will be beneficial to our readers.
So for our first post we thought we would introduce ourselves.
We are a children's day nursery called Squirrel Lodge ran by a small team lead by Claire.
We are made up of a well qualified and experienced team. Jenny, Terrie, Josh, Nikki, Chloe , Sarah, Charlie and Nadia. We will introduce ourselves fully in a future post. Both Terrie and Josh will be taking the main responsibility for keeping this little space up to date.
Below is our mission outlined.
Here at Squirrel Lodge our mission is to work together with you to raise confident and happy children. Being inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we follow a child centred and child led approach. We treat each child as what they are; Unique. Working with them to challenge their skills, solve problems and test their ideas. We provide an interesting and open environment for children to explore as a foundation to provoke thoughts and spark curiosity. By placing the child at the centre of our approach we get to know them and their interests, from this knowledge we then plan in the moment with them to challenge their ideas and extend their learning.
Alongside this philosophy we are also a Forest School. A wise person once said, ‘there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing’ At Squirrel Lodge we could not agree more! We see the outdoors as a treasure trove of endless possibilities! Allowing children to explore the natural forest brings them closer to nature, helps them manage and take risks and learn how to protect and preserve our environment.
At Squirrel Lodge we are committed to working with families to raise confident and curious children. We understand this means striving to build strong relationships with our families as well as the children in our care. By placing the centre of your world at the centre of ours we can care for and support each child and their needs, helping them reach their full potential.
If you would like to see anything specific shared please feel free to let us know!
